my wife and i saw Def Poetry Jam live here in NYC, a string of powerful performances. Russell Simmons has done a good thing, to get voices heard instead of having them shout in the wilderness.

I would love to see the show live. I'll bet the atmosphere is really incredible.

Wow, tears in my eyes man. That's powerful.

I had the opportunity to see some performances similar to this doing some "underground" shows down in ATL a few years ago. I got up and sang a few songs with my acoustic, saw them and felt like I was an inch tall. It made me feel like I was covering my own true feelings with happy chords and false impressions...

    Thanks for sharing...

    ONLY 3 minutes?

    Sorry....

I couldn't make it to the end...

For me it was - full of sound and fury, signifying nothing...

Or, if not nothing, then nothing to me...

He lost me totally by the time he got to -

"Walk like a God and your Goddess will come to you"

    :dunno

I've tried walking like a God before, but just ended up getting my feet wet...

And if I called my wife my "Goddess" she'd probably laugh like a drain...

    that was awesome.

It reminded me of listening to Coltrane play on Transition. Beautiful.
