Why not just go with a hum bucker sized single coil? that looks awful to be honest. Or possibly one of Tom Short's Undercover Mini's? That will give you more brightness.

I actually dig this idea a lot. Thanks for posting!
Lots of nice choices--I would think Lollar Special, Broadcaster, Fralin Blues Special, etc.

It doesn't look very pretty, but it's way more versatile. I can get basically any Tele bridge pup into this.

EDIT: On second thought, I'm really liking the Harmonic Design Z-90. Hmm..

Don Mare. NO ICEPICK! Search my recent posts for a simple clip of the Zep O Tone (just what you asked for) compared to a Super Sport El Black Krowe model.

It's not boutiq-ee, but I LOVE the DiMarzio Twang King in mine. Both the neck and bridge sound killer.

I haven't tried or heard any Tele pups from Zhangbucker, but if they're half of what his bucker winds are they're the best thing going.

My fave Tele pup for the bridge is a Fender OV, but considering you're looking for more of a bright-but-not-ice-picky than a pure vintage sound, I'd say Fender CS Nocaster. Got one in the bridge of my Baja and it's excellent, and definitely walks the line between bright and too bright really well.

Some kind of Broadcaster type might be worth a look.

Another vote for Don Mare. I have had his Donocaster set in and it's very twang-ey and bright without the pick.
For something a little darker but still twangy, I'd say the Fralin Blues Special.
