I really really like this band. And Andy just had the right sound for their hard rock meets pop approach. He wasn't a monster player, but I'd rather listen to his kind of playing than a million notes in a flurry kind of madman. Plus IMHO they looked cool as hell. Yeah I know this clip was prerecorded except for the vocals but who cares it sounds awesome.

I have a feeling they may experience a renewed interest.

Find the Musikladen version of Turn It Down on youtube. The bass sounds like it's going to destroy the place.

    Always loved Sweet.

One of my fave bands when I was a kid. I still think Desolation Boulevard and Give Us a Wink have some amazing tunes on them.

Love the Sweet . Got into them around '84 after reading they were an influence on Motley Crue

At the risk of giving my age away, we were schoolkids very much into (The) Sweet and that in itself was a bit of an achievement given the tiny slivers of audio/video we could glean of British bands - no DVRs, no VCRs, too young to stay up for any syndicated programming.

    Best thread ever! lol

I love Sweet, so glad to see. I swear the VH bros especially Alex loved them. I hear a lot of Mick in his drum style.

I love the Bubblegum as much as their flat out rockers, they were great!

    Oh and that 335!!!!!

Brian... what can be said? He was one of the best frontmen, but a sad end to that story. I wish I knew why Andy had it in for him?

Really like this tune from the UK version of Desolation Blvd.

I still occasionally listen to the Sweet. Even some of the later stuff.... "Air on A Tape Loop" or "Mother Earth" anyone?

Watching these old videos I can't help but think of Spinal Tap...

there is a half hour long short BBC thing from back in their heyday with interview footage that is very much in the Spinal Tap vein
