A friend gave me a extra ticket to see them at the Troubadour here in LA Friday night. I'm 50/50 with them, but my friend is a major fan. Should be interesting live.

AC and Grizzly Bear are 2 bands that I "should" like (based on reviews, popular opinion, RIYL, friends, etc) but am completely underwhelmed with despite repeated attempts to "get" them. I guess I'll keep trying…

Sung Tongs was actually a really big step in music for me, gave me a much better understanding about writing hooks. Brilliant band, I think you just have to lie back and try not to concentrate too hard at first, when you get it it's fantastic.

Listen to "in Ear Park" by the Dept. of Eagles. Dan from Grizzly Bear is the figurehead of the band, and the entire disc features some really incredible, intricate guitar work.

Cool, I'll give it a listen. Strangely enough, I once jammed with Chris from Grizzly Bear, doing "out" stuff. He played sax through a pedalboard and an Electrix Filter Factory.
