another guitar setup question

    what does it mean when i can intonate every string pretty dam good.. but my 4th d string is just out of wack.. flat at the 12th fret.... pretty good at the 5th fret.. gets worse up to the 12th? yeah, I know, its a cheap guitar

    Either needs adjustment at the saddle or nut. It's possible the string is not seating properly in the nut.

    same thing with my gibson 61 reissue sg! drive me nuts! again same thing with my A string in my edwards, this one is worst!

    What he said. Most probably a nut issue. Also just try replacing the string. I've had some experience with wound strings that just would not intonate properly.

    Try a new string, especially if it's DR strings.
