Greetings all, I have been checking out the forum for a bit now and decided to register and make it official. I perform around town a couple times a week playing Jazz, Blues, Funk & what not. Gear wise I rotate between Gibson 335, 165 & a Heritage 535 (all Lefties :AOK)... Reissue Dlx Rvb, and various OD pedals.

Looking forward to chatting with y'all,
    Mark

    Thanks for all the welcomes.

Joel, right now I play Sunday nights at The Red downtown 10-12 no cover.
2nd and 4th Saturdays at Sanderlings in the Seascape resort 9-11 no cover.
We're also at the Crows Nest and Cypress Lounge a couple times a month
    (usually Weds Thurs).

Let me know if you have any dates coming up and please say 'hey' if you make it to one of our shows.
    -Cheers

Welcome I'm in the Santa Cruz Mtns. (Summit Area) and right now we have a few inches of snow on the ground and it's coming down hard. Crazy.

Welcome! I'm up at UCSC, and always looking for local blues/rock shows! I'll have to swing by one of those places soon!

Gary, the weather has really been something. I do appreciate the snow as it's so seldom seen in the Santa Cruz area.

Jason, I would suggest one of the Red shows on Sunday. Cool venue and we usually have quite a few friends down from UCSC.

I got to see Wynton Marsalis with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra last night. Amazing show all around, has to be the most 'dynamic' band I have ever seen and Wynton was a great host. Highlight for me was a duet of Duke Ellingtons' Single Petal of a Rose featuring bass clarinet and piano.

I am curious if anyone had a chance to see Bill Frisell at the Kuumbwa this past Monday?

I'll try to make it down to Seascape one of these days. What kind of music is your band doing?
Is it the B3 bbq thing?

Hey Mark, I just took a look at your band page...good stuff!

Turns out I shared the stage with you at Kuumbwa Jazz Center last April. I played my Stringmaster steel guitar at the Lapstravaganza with Freddie Roulette and you were playing in the backup band with Todd and the gang.

Hope to see you one of these days on the gig. Maybe I can sit in with my Emperor Regent?

Not only that... Emee & I will dig the sound but be happy we're not helping to carry the Hammond Organ around ..

Your clips sound great .... what a cool band, & you're an excellent player!
    Welcome to TGP ...!!

Gianni is outstanding.. What a player he turned out to be ..
Please say hello from Joseph Lucido to him for me...
Used to know his brother Renzo pretty well..,
In fact, Renzo's the fellow that ended up with my Holdsworth Carvin guitar ...

Also, I heard about your band from my fellow bandmate Mike Shannon...
He told me you guys are just smoking!!

    Hey Brother,

You know Renzo? Does he play a 1-12 Boogie? He plays mostly South American styles [as I was in touch last]

I knew Renzo at one time ... (haven't seen him in many years)
He's one brilliant musical mind, just like his brother who plays in Mark's band ...

Cool, nice to know there's more than a few Santa Cruz musicians represented here. Just played with Mike Shannon at Crow's Nest last Wednesday, we ended up doing a bunch of Boogaloo and I'll be damned if he didn't have a different variation for each tune. We also had an 'enthusiastic fan' ask our organ player to 'make the organ sound like piano' and suggested he 'play without looking at his hands' as it was distracting. Doh!

Bill, That Roulette show was chaotic but totally fun. I hope they organize another show in the future as that Kuumbwa show was very successful. At Seascape we play a mellow first set Jazz/Latin/Folk then shift to whatever the room calls for (typically Funk/Blues/Rock).

Heard Renzo is off to Mehico , must be nice.
