It has been suggested that we learn some Billy Squier...I can't recall a single Billy Squier song, though I have heard his name, and somehow seem to remember that he is known for owning a Burst, so...rather than searching through his catalog, can anyone here who plays in cover bands tell me of any of his songs that you currently play that are really working for you crowd wise?

    Thanks!

I don’t gig, but Lonely is the Night is a fun and cool recognizable riff.

We used to do "Everybody Wants You".
It seemed to be pretty popular with folks, but this was back in the mid eighties. :dunno

You have to cover "Rock Me Tonight". Make sure to cop Billy's attire from the video for maximum effect.:D

If your goal is to chase me away playing some Billy Squire will work.

If I was in the audience, I'd want to hear this one:

Wow - surprised by some of the responses. I love Billy's 2-3 albums from his heyday - great straight-ahead rock songs, and I would think most (older) audiences would love The Stroke, My Kinda Lover, In The Dark, etc. - fun tunes!

We do "In The Dark" and Lonely is the night" Both always go over well. To me the Don't Say No album is a classic. Just a great straight ahead rock album

Roommate's band plays Everybody Wants You & Lonely Is The Night. Both are crowd favorites.

There are just some here that let no opportunity pass to slag their fellow musician...kind of against the rules, and definitely not the topic of this thread.

Good tunes, minus Rock Me Tonight. I heard those songs so many times back in the day that I can't imagine too many people who want to hear them. Constantly playing them in the band setting might get old.

My current cover band plays it and it still goes over pretty well. Well enough to keep it in the set list.

Would this be any different than any other "classic rock songlist"?
