Any cheap (<$800) 2HB Guitars with a BIG Neck?

I've tried a bunch of cheaper 2-humbucker guitars over the last year and they all seem to have pretty wimpy necks compared to my R8. I've tried PRS SE, Reverend, Fender, Epiphone, etc.)

The closest I've found is the Gibson LP Vintage Mahogany and the Faded SG, but I'm not sold on either of those.

Anything out there I've missed, or will I just have to put together a parts guitar at some point?

Try a Fender type guitar(strat or tele) and get an Allparts FAT neck. I love big necks and Allparts is the ONLY reason I can play a strat. It`s a full inch from nut to heel.

lp johnny: thanks for the tip. I've played a couple, but the ones I played had 24-fret necks, which I'm not really into. I'll check 'em out again.

Caretaker: that's definitely an option. I dig the neck on my EJ strat and I just snagged a '58 LP size neck (w/ 12" radius ... yum) for my tele from the emporium. Maybe I'll just snag a cheap 2HB tele body at some point.

Do a strat and still use the middle single coil with 2 tappable buckers so you still get all the strat type tones.

Wait....you found the neck on the PRS SE's to SMALL? Good lord man, what are you looking for? I bought a PRS SE because they had the BIGGEST necks I could find!

Good idea. Maybe I'll just keep my EJ and load a separate pickguard with some single coil size HBs. Hmm ... I'm liking that plan. Thanks!

It wasn't TOO small---as in, Ibanez Wizard small (I grew up on those). But I didn't find it to be all that big. And if felt kinda plastic-y to me.

I bought a '95 about a month or so ago and the neck is VERY big. My 2 main guitars are an R8 and Nocaster, so I know big when I feel it.:banana

The Guild Bluesbirds were really nice. Big fat neck and great sound. I bet you could find them pretty cheap used.

The Ephiphone SG copies (the 400 series) have a really big neck.

The neck on the new slash epiphone LP is pretty huge, it sounds really good with the SDs in it as well and can be had at $899.

I just got one of the Czech handmade Dean LPs for $350. Great guitar & the neck is certainly fat enough for me
