Any cheap equivalent to the AM Sunface NKT 275?

Tried the analogman Sunface nkt275 and loved how it gave me that torn-speaker, on-the-verge-of-breaking, get-the-kids-out-while-you-still-can sound when my amp is cranked. Wondering if there is anything out there for cheap ($100-150) that can do this same sort of sound. Ridiculously snarly, growly fuzz from the depths of the earth

a little out of your budget, but the "regular" sunface with CV7003s is quite good too.

The Hendrix Fuzz Face is a great FF...Si not Ge but still a great FF.

Also, the Oxfuzz...those are $175 new and I've seen them for $135-150 used...

MJM London Fuzz...those are all over used for $125 and less!

None of these are the same as an NKT275 Sunface but all of them are FF circuits, are well made and in your budget.

I had NKT-275 and BC-108 - both were great, but I liked Ge much more. Si FF sounds more like any other Si fuzz IMO. Ge has kind of magic in it. The problem is that Ge FF are usually more expensive than Si.

I'd suggest Ox Fuzz - Ken puts NOS NKT-275. Much cheaper than Sun Face. It also pops up on emporium from time to time.

Plum Crazy also seems to be sweet, but it's a Si/Ge FF. Maybe you can write to builder - very nice guy - and ask him to make you Ge version.

This doesn't help answer your question (sorry), but did you try the high-gain version...or which version...that gave you that sound?

Coleman Astro Fuzz. Two things inside: one germanium, one silicon. GREAT vintage fuzz face sound. P2P wired, hand painted. Mine's for sale, CHEAP. Or find a new one.

It's actually more of a fuzzface/tonebender hybrid, sounds good but not your typical fuzzface.

A used Addrock Geranium (that's the name of the pedal, not a misspelling of "Germanium) should fit the OP's needs nicely.
