I had an E Bow a while back and got rid of it for some reason or another. I was thinking about getting another one and trying it out. Anyone here ever use one or is currently using one?

I got one for With or Without You and have found a couple uses for it. I found a cool sound yesterday but if I told you I'd have to kill you.:moon
The new ones have a harmonic mode so it gets cool feedback. It has limited uses but when you need one it's good to have.

I love to do some pad like tones with a nice delay and ebow

add a slide in, and you swell it up...some really cool atmospheric stuff.

I have one, but don't use it much these days. I get it out when I play Zep's "Ramble On" - it works for the first lead break.

I got one and use in Church for pads and drone type leads. Add some delay and 'verb and it's golden!

I'm a big fan of the eBow. There are lots of untapped sounds that can be made using the eBow.

    kenoflife,

Glad you got that model. If you do a lot of recording, the Plus and Chrome are also good to get. You can really hear and feel the dramatic differences when having them all. The Black/Red logo is not much different than the Black/White. Plays arpeggios but the notes are slower to swell than Black/white. The Plus gives the upper harmonic on demand, but the regular position does not drive the same as the Black/White.

Post clips, I'd love to hear them.

I use mine all the time in church....as said volume pedal, delay and reverb are the staples with it....also make sure you dial back your guitar volume

I have done some different stuff using my ebow with a wah and my ooh-wah II

-Rah3 I use the black and white...but I can never get my arpeggios to come out right for some reason....I am using single coils (strat) and use my bridge pickup...if I try arpeggios I usually put my guitar volume on 7 or 8...any tips?

Hmmm...I think I might have heard of these things before...

    ;)

Though I like the raucous tones of the black and red ones lately I've been using the black and white one most often.

    "Flying Solo"
    "Drone"
    "Mighty Fly"
    "Creepy"

...all feature the eBow prominently. One of these days I'm going to get to NY and sit in with rah3's mighty fine ebow orchestra.

I love mine. I have the one with the switch for added harmonics. You can get cool effects by reaching behind the e-bow with your ring finger and flick the switch back and forth.

A neat thing about the E-bow is how it makes playing legato single-note runs so much easier. You don't have to actually "Pull-off" and "Hammer-On", just lift your finger and place it back down, and the E-bow does all the work.

All the time...I have one of the originals, with a serial # and cool leather holster. I have some youtube clips where I use it...usually with some cool delay and looping too.

I think the originals don't grab the note as fast as the newer ones, but I kinda like it that way. you get many variations by moving along the length of string.
