I'm waiting for an Ebony Thunderbird Vintage Pro to arrive at my local guitar shop. I put a deposit on it last week.

Nothing comes close to the Jack Cassidy (and I’m a metaller).

I'm a Jack Casady bass fan too. Very solid instrument at a great price.

I'll third the JC, and extol what I think is the tops of all basses under the Gibson brands, the Allen Woody Rumblekat. My go-to specs are 5 strings, 35" scale, bridge pickups, and preferably 18-19 mm spacing. The Rumblekat is 4 strings, 30", neck/mid pickups, and 17 mm spacing, but damn, that is one hell of a bass!

I have a Goldtop JC and a white Tbird Classic IV. Both are killer basses for different reasons. I really want the new 20th Anniversary JC, and a pelham blue T Bird.

Both of these new models look nice, want to take the Embassy for a whirl.

It's nice to see they revived the old Embassy Deluxe.

The only Epiphone basses I like are those that are pre-Gibson. :aok

Love my Rumblekat, especially the skinny neck. I upgraded the tuners to Hipshots, little less neck dive with the lighter tuners.

The new Epi's look cool, but I'm a short scale guy.

I have one of the short-scale Epi EB0s with a bridge pickup added.

I just picked it up as a cheap bass to practice, but couldn't resist tinkering with it and installed a DiMarzio Model One and the bridge pickup. Now it has a lot of very good sounds in it.

Another fan of the Jack Casady bass, with one caveat...

Mine has the biggest neck I’ve ever come across, gigantic even by bass standards. As just a bog standard guitarist, I can only play it a few minutes at a time. Jack must have some monster hands or something!!!

Sure do wish Hot Tuna would come back through town.

Yeah, its a fairly sizeable chunk of wood. I usually play relatively slim Jazz bass sized necks, it took some getting used to to play my JC, but I amglad I did. Its currently my main bass for my Americana/garage rock project.

Got a call this afternoon saying that my Ebony Thunderbird Vintage Pro has arrived and is ready to be picked up. I was shocked, I figured it was another 1-2 months away from arriving.

Picked it up this afternoon. Here's a few of photos of it.
