Guys, I've been wanting to upgrade my cheesy logo for quite some time and just haven't had the time to put behind it. As I continue to get more and more busy trying to turn orders around in a timely manner, I find that time is becoming even more scarce. Add this to the fact that I have zero graphic arts skills and we have a small predicament! The guy who designed my logo passed away a year and a half ago (you may remember that thread). Any designers out there who would be willing to trade a new logo for a pedal of your choice from my line? Just email or PM me if you'd be willing to help lift me from the ranks of second rate clip art builder to something a little more attractive and professional! Any takers?

    By the way...the current logo:

    Thanks!

It's really not that bad of a log that you have there already.

What do you think you'd like to see done to it?

I just think it looks too much like a bottle of Ocean Spray juice! Plus, I'd like something that maybe incorporated something a little more "photographic" than just text and some color. Maybe a way to have an actual image of one of my pedals as a background...maybe play with the focus or something. I guess it could incorporate a closeup of a strat or something as well...

I'll try and post something similar if I can find anything....

As an old-school logo designer from WAY back, I will opine that photos -- or photographic images -- do NOT belong in a logotype.

PM me if you'd like to chat further.

I agree with Dave. No scenery or images.

I also think the original logo looks like the Ocean Spray juice too, lol. Or some time of aquatic thing....

Appreciate the input Dave - will do. ANd I'll submit that I'm open to suggestions and direction from the pros in the art world...which I am definitely NOT. Thanks!

+1 on the no-go for the photo in the logo. I've been working as a graphic designer for the past 12 years, although I did just get laid off. Logos (or marks) are effective when they're able to be shrunk down to the size of a dime and should be able to be translated into a 1-color design.

Not a fan of the "cool-text" site. Looks like just a bunch of photoshop filters applied to non-standard typefaces.

i worked for a couple of the top identity firms and this is a good, guiding statement about identity design. no offense to anyone but your existing logo is better than anything that i can see getting done with that cooltext site.

feel free to PM me if you need help.
