Any love for 65 amps?

Just curious if anyone was enjoying 65 amps' great products. I don't see too many threads on here about them. I've had my Ventura for a year now and I absolutely love it. The amp is so responsive. It has great gain and great feel that I have never experienced with another amp. It takes pedals well too. Am I one of the few still digging these amps?

London Pro lover right here! This is a great amp from a great company. I don't gig mine (use my DRRI for that), but I enjoy it as my "Rock" amp at home.

Love my Lil Elvis 1x12 combo! It's an absolutely huge sounding 12watts. Works great with SC or HBers.

I don't own any of their amps but I have played through a couple of Londons and listened to many demos and I think they make fantastic stuff. The Soho would be the one for me I think.

Despise them. Flatter than a pancake sound wise. Got forced to play through one at a memorial jam a year after I tried a couple out and got the idea how horrible they were. (The organisers wouldn't let us play through our own gear and rented the 65s as a backline for that memorial, never mind everyone they knew telling them not to go with those amps.) It worked out just as I feared---the sound was terrible. You couldn't pay me enough to play through one again.

I too gig a DRRi but at home I use the London Pro to practice with the band, cause I can control the volume easier, and I use both in stereo when I play alone or when jamming with friends.
I think it sounds great!

They cost a lot of money and have very basic "classic" features. Every one I've played was pretty much a one trick pony. They do make quality products and offer great customer support. However dollars to dollars for my money I prefer more out of an amp.

My 65 Amps Tupelo 1x12 combo is great. Due to a temporary financial situation, I was just about to pack it up and ship it off to someone who wanted to buy it just last week. But...I couldn't bring myself to go through with the sale and backed out at the last minute. Luckily the potential buyer (a fellow TGPer) was understanding and very cool about it. I hate selling something over a temporary financial situation- I've experienced that feeling of regret before, don't want to do it again...

The Tupelo is fantastic in every way; the Master Voltage control works very well and allows the amp to still sound great and low levels. The tremolo is killer as well. In my experience, every guitar sounds good through the Tupelo- only a minor tweak of the single "tone" knob is required to optimize it between different guitars and/or pickup types. And I DO mean a MINOR tweak; I usually have not needed to tweak the tone knob more than a number or two in either direction when switching between guitars: Stratocaster, ES-335, PRS Hollowbody Spruce, LesPaul, PRS Custom 22.

This is the only 65 I have owned, but I have played several others- I really liked all of them. I wouldn't mind getting an Empire head at some point in the future.

Wow- a VERY bad experience. I just wanted to point out that this is the first truly negative review of any of the 65 Amps models I have read anywhere; not that there probably aren't other negative reviews- I just have never seen/heard/read any. I am not challenging this assessment- I'm glad to read the honest opinions of others- I'm just surprised to read the 65 Amps were that far off the mark. To each his own- especially since everyone has their own preferences/tastes/requirements.

Also first bad experience I've heard of. I want a Blue line London. Played one and loved that amp!

I've got a London Pro and have a love / hate relationship with it. Owning this amp makes me understand what 3D sound and string dynamics are. I love the percussive attack I get from this thing. Very organic sounding, and truly sounds vintage. Best thing about this amp is that my guitars sound like they are supposed to sound - Strat like a Strat, Tele like a Tele, Les Paul like a Les Paul. What drives me nuts sometimes is the lack of treble/mid/bass control (just a tone knob). I use a MXR 6 band to control the mids when I'm not in the mood for them. Humbucker neck position pickups lack definition through this amp and get muddy. Drive pedals sound great through the blue channel. Time based pedals sound great, but the amp is super sensitive to tiny tweaks.

Overall, I am happy, just want a little more flexibility.

I had a Lil' Elvis that I wish I would have never have gotten rid of. Stellar amp that, while small in size, was huge in sound and tone....I've played a London that was also a great sounding amp. I would LOVE to play one of the new Whiskey heads......

That's the first negative review of them that I've ever heard also.....

Love my Ventura. Seriously under-rated amp. I've been fortunate enough to have some really stellar amps and this amp is in the upper echelon in terms of rich tone.

Was it an outdoor gig? I could see low wattage 1x12 amps sounding bad outdoors.
