I cant seem to find one of these pedals to purchase, so I am wondering if CatalinBread has officially decided to reissue the WIIO? And, if so, will it be the same, or different? Different how?

Thanks

Right - no official word yet.

But it has been said that if / when they do make a production run that it will be based on the 'modded' WIIO, not the original. Nic likes the modded version better, and feels it sounds more like his Hiwatt. And from Nic:

"WIIO was supposed to sound balls out. Frankly I think the mod version sounds more like a Hiwatt in the usable gain ranges. But hey what do I know? Well I know enough to know that the production version will not be balls out."

This TGP, so when does not having all the information keep us from talking about something?

SO the MOD is to lower the gain of the original WIIO? Where's the fun in that?

Not sure how you got that from what he said, as that's not even close.

From the Catalinbread Facebook page:

Catalinbread Effects Ordering circuit boards for Helio, DLS, & WIIO (yeah that's right)...

Hopefully they sound better than the original 100.
Well, Nic said a little while ago that any production run would be made to modded WIIO specs (see link a few posts above). So they'll sound a little different, but no better or worse, IMO (and yes, I've had both).

Actually, that's a quote.
All the quotes are within this thread here:

http://www.tonefactor.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=528

In fact, those things are exactly what Nic himself said. Not sure where you're getting your 'facts' - care to share?

Not facts, just reading comprehension. You said:

"Nic likes the modded version better, and feels it sounds more like his Hiwatt."

This doesn't remotely relate to the quote you posted.

Not going to get into a fight with you. I just don't think that your summary relates to the quote you posted. We can differ, that's fine by me.

There's nothing to differ about...

If you read the ToneFactor thread, Nic says, and this is another quote:

"I [Nic] prefer the Mod version as it sounds more like my Hiwatt - cleans up just as well too."
And the quote I added, prefaced by an 'and', explained the differences... WHY Nic prefers the modded version.

So, I thought that would be interpreted as: Nic likes the modded version better because it sounds more like his actual Hiwatt, whereas the stock WIIO sounds "balls out" and that is not how his actual Hiwatt sounds. I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear; I should have done 2 full quotes. Does that make more sense?
