1. During the first week of August 2020, we'll be upgrading the software TGP runs on to the currently available up-to-date version. The software version is a significant upgrade, so there will be some downtime as we do the work under the hood. We've got a team of professionals, including the software development company assisting the process. We've conducted substantial tests using backups of the current forum to ensure a smooth and successful upgrade. We've gone to great lengths on the design of the theme (aka 'skin' or look and feel) of the forum to offer a better user experience for members and visitors. The default theme will be new, yet clearly influenced by the classic TGP look. We will have a dark version of that also easily selectable. Also available will be a "Classic TGP" theme that closely matches the current theme you are accustomed to using with the current software. There is also an easy width adjustment to make it set width or expand to your window width for each theme. As we get closer, I'll update everyone so hopefully, no one will be caught by surprise.

The results speak for themselves...two of the "siimple" Thorns are my two favorite guitars ever and these difficult times with the virus have allowed me to spend a bunch of time with each of these every day.

what's Tony up to ? Send him my way !

Ron has always been a stand up guy and has a true passion for what he does. If I wanted a CS guitar I'd probably see what Ron's take is :beer

Ron is a kingpin, I'll miss his original designs, but am happy he's been able to work some of that magic in to Fenders newer offering (Californian)

    Ron Thorn lovefest? I’m in!!!

    But first... this is awesome!!!

    Two of my favorite people.

Ron’s Junior Ninety was my first “boutique” guitar ever. Since then, every single guitar I’ve ever bought is compared to my Thorn experiences.

Bought my first Suhr a year and a half ago (and, oh, a few more since) and between those two guys, there really isn’t anything they can’t do. And frankly, why buy anything else?

Ron is bringing some incredible ingenuity to Fender. I love it. That Saleen... I mean come ON! Just ridiculously cool.

And he’s just such a damn good guy. His events were the best, and again, with just great people. All the folks I’ve met through Ron (and John for that matter) are just awesome.

    The guitars are a bonus.

Man, I dream of having Ron make me a guitar one day. Now, if they would only pay us elementary school music teachers a tad more, a master Ron build would be mine. One day it will come true.

Gotta wipe the drool off myself now. SSS and SSH...I could play the 2 of those for the rest of my life and never think of another.

I'd love to see Thorn Custom Guitars release a line of MIJ reproductions like John Page did with his John Page Classic series of guitars.

i'd like to see more hardtails in the lineup too but I guess they don't sell or fender would make them

& neckplates ….. it's 2020 …. recessed washers on the non vintage spec models ftw

You wouldn't want to have a split personality in a case like this or it could get really complicated.

Thanks so much, Ron is the Man! What's scary is that they sound and play even better than they look! There is an Arcane humbucker in the green one, and it's just a bit bright for me. Easy to dial in, and it plays just stupidly smooth and easy...just like all of his guitars did. The blue one...that's been my #1 for 8 years or so.

On a whim, I just went to the Mod Shop, and damn- there's a hardtail option!
They're also currently offering a mahogany body and neck- so tempting!!!

How about a very biased answer?????
Since the pandemic, I spend most of time in my "man cave".
At the bottom of my stairs I see this....
Over my TV and stereo I see this...
also, I see all of my guitar cases (2 levels deep) and 63% are created by Ron Thorn....
I have known Ron for over 20 years and my biased opinion is that I would not be afraid to order any guitar created by Ron Thorn :D
