    He's killin'.
Used to see him at Manny's Car Wash regularly when he was breaking in.
He rocked Rick Kelly Eaglecasters and Sparkle teles for a while...
a good story off another forum:
"Re: Kelly sparkle Tele ala Lou Reed's. Rick told me that guitar was lost when a taxi driver in NY drove off before Popa could get the guitar out of the trunk. He wasn't able to track the cab down so it was assumed the it was gone for good.
BUT.... a year or so later Rick got a call from a guy who had unwittingly bought that same guitar on ebay and was wanting to know more about the Kelly brand. Rick asked him questions about the guitar and it was indeed Popa Chubby's Tele.
Here's how cool Rick is... He offered to make the guy a replacement guitar (which the guy was cool with) and got the Tele back for Chubby."

I've dug him a long time, since the Booty and the Beast album first came out.
Great player, and I dig his songs and what he chooses to cover.

I just hope he stays healthy. He's sitting down these days.

Yep, his "One Million Broken Guitars" album was superb. I tried a couple others and he kinda went into hip hop or something. Probably the best electric "Nobody Knows You..." I've heard though.

Opened up for him once. A really nice guy that puts on a great show and "gets it" as he hung around and interacted with everyone that ambled up to him...

Played my local football club a couple of years back.
Wandered in with a bag full of merch five minutes before he got on the tiny stage and just blew the place apart.
Non stop. His strat was practically breathing fire.

    Hung around for ages afterwards.
Cool cat to chat to. Hot cat to listen to.

it was at a small club in Santa Barbara Ca. got to hang out and talk with him a bit
bought his Popa Chubby cd and he signed it for me, seemed like a nice guy.

I've seen him a few times. He's sorta local to me in CT. He plays the local Fairfield Theater Co Warehouse.
A drummer friend sometimes does gigs with him.
His name is if I remember right is Ted Horowitz.

Years ago, I hung with Popa Chubby for a couple of hours in the Electro Harmonix demo booth at NAMM. I had a great time talking to him and watching him play. Most of time it was just he and I.

I hadn't heard of him before that day and I've been a big fan ever since.
