I am sure this is a stupid question, but it seems that the majority of builders specialize in amazing guitars. Is there someone that is specializing in basses? Koll has some beautiful basses and I want to see more!!!

Kevin Brubaker. Fabulous custom basses of any type you could imagine. Great guitars, too, but being a bassist, Kevin focuses on them more.

I'll throw a second shout out for Chris Benavente. I was just at his shop today... he's got some killer pieces going. Excellent builder!

I think Phil Kubicki is still making basses.

Wow all awesome. I am not much of a Schector fan but that really does look nice. Also love the Nordy and Lull T-Bird. I have been researching a bit myself still and am way impressed with Bolin. I would love to see him build a Custom "RD Artist" style bass. Or anyone for that matter. Always loved that bass

My good friend Paul Herman has recently relaunched the Wal bass.

Unique instruments built by one of the most talented luthiers you could meet.

I really like the looks of what this guy is doing:

I was going to start a seperate guitar related thread about finding a builder that may be willing to incorporate some of the ergonomic ideas in these builds. Great stuff. We need more folks thinking outside of the box about ergonomics, electronics, etc....

I am no bass player - I can play some bass, but I don't qualify as a "bass player" - but Malinoski's work could convince me to become one!
