Any songs on Black Sabbath's debut played with Strat?

I just learned today that Iommi was recording their self-titled album with a Strat initially.

    http://www.iommi.com/page.php?id=8&sec=eq
"Then, right in the middle of recording our first record, one of my pickups stopped working. Back then, fixing a guitar pickup wasn't as easy as it is today and it was real work to change them. We only had two days in the studio to finish the entire record, so there was no time to waste. It was at that moment that I switched over to the SG, and I never played the Stratocaster again" - (from Hit Parader Magazine, July 1993)

Does anyone know if any of the songs that made it on the album were recorded using a Stratocaster?

wow, never heard this. Also never saw a pic of Iommi playing anything but a SG. Funny thing is Iommi was considering joining Jethro Tull back in 68 and changed his mind and formed BS. Can you imagine no godfather of Heavy metal? Tony's a versitile guitarist and would had cut JT with no problem, aside from maybe the Thick as a Brick period.

Yeah, all that sort of crazy "what if" revisionist history is fun to think about. Like... what if his guitar pickup didn't stop working and he still used a Strat? How would Black Sabbath's sound be changed. Personally I'm a single-coil guy, but Sabbath without the humbuckers is unimaginable.

Another one of those "could have joined a band" scenarios that I love is Les Claypool from Primus. He was trying out for Metallica as their bassist, and they wouldn't let him in because he was "too good" and wanted him to start his own band so he could effectively use his talents. Talk about a bitter-sweet rejection.

---------------Not really true. Les Claypool by his own admission knew NOTHING of heavy metal, and when he went to the Metallica audition, wanted to jam on some Isley Bros or old Motown instead!:facepalmWisely, the Metallica gang "realized" that while talented, Les was totally and mentally in a place where they were NOT going to go, and wisely sent him on his way.......................The REAL Rocker.

Yes it certainly was, those with an astute ear can hear the tone difference on that track too.

Ha, I initially mentioned Wicked World in my post as one, and edited it out because I wanted to everyone's untainted opinions.

Not exactly. He appeared with them on the show, but everything was canned besides Ian Anderson. Iommi was just miming along to the track Mick Abrahams had laid down.

On the album anyway. There are some demos & live recordings on You Tube that pre-date the 1st album. Most likely, he's playing a Strat on those.
