Im very interested in a 2x12 with Jim's own speakers (12H-75-8HP) and was wondering if anybody here has one and can give me some comments on it.

    Thanks

If Jim modeled his 2x12 after the cab that I think he did, it'll be a great sounding cab indeed. Prolly will even if he didn't. The guy knows his speakers (and cabs)!

I'd rather let Jim do that...

Andersonguy...I only make one type of 2x12 cab, so whatever LeonC is thinking is probably what you're thinking about, too! Although I do make a 2x12 combo cab, it's also the same size as the 2x12 adjustable cab. Only difference is one is open back, the non combo extension type is an adjustable back. Pics of a client's cab below, showing the front, and rear.

(Unless Leon reminds me of some other cab I own that he's talking about, of course! LOL)[IMG]

    Hi Jim!

What are you trying to achieve with your 2x12 cab? '68 - '70 4x12 Basketweave tone in a 2x12 package?

Don, I let the speakers, amp & guitar handle the tone delivery for that late 60's tone. The adjustable back cabinet helps shape your bass response to your needs, no matter what speakers are in there.

big mike...damnit... you and Sammy Hagar are in a rut! :D :dude

I had Jim build one of his convertible 2x12's just a little wider than normal to accomodate my Maven Peal Ganesha head. Loaded with two Scumback 8 ohm SA12H30, switchable between 4 and 16 ohms, or each speaker individually at 8 ohms. As much flexibility as I could want out of any one cab, as much tone as I could want out of any cab. Also sounds good with my Vox AC30 Custom Classic head. And with my Clark Hampton (18 watt clone)head (oh yeah!). Jim was real easy to work with, and was able to bring all my ideas/preferences to life in a cab that sounds terrific. Highly recommended.

can't speak for ol' Scumbags cabs as I haven't tried 'em, but his Scumback speakers are molten white hot gold and will make ANY cab sound better than it should.

big mike - you'd be proud... I recently traded my 1x12 green levant Z cab straight up for a RED Z-Best.

$h*t. Now I'm drinking the RED Kool-Aid besides. Trouble soon to follow ;)

Nah, not yet...... I'm still big on green. ;) Though I did have a ton of fun at the Cabo Wabo last September on my honeymoon... The Red Rocker sure knows how to throw a party!
