I have an 84 Custom that has Shaws and they are great sounding pups, I'd like to find something aftermarket that sounds similar for another Les Paul, but not sure where to start.

I've got a pair I pulled from a 1982 Moderne years ago...I've recently thought about putting them back in just to try again...

I've got a Shaw neck p/u still unopened but no guitar to put it in yet. Don't need it in my LP. My buddy had a set in a v years ago. Sounded fantastic.

I wasn't sure why that 84 sounded so good, but I'm certain the Shaws have a part in it. Lower output for sure. I looked on ebay a while back and some guy wanted $400 for a pair :messedup ... that's why I was interested in a possible clone version.

They bring pretty big money these days...

The magnets in them are different and FWIW, I've never found another pickup that uses those style magnets so I'd imagine a Shaw Clone is out of the question at this point...
