We just went live with the new site last night and our Hotlist members got the email this morning for the preview. Guess the cat's out of the bag!

I'm really excited and so are my guys.

    Wait a minute, isn't Artifact a synonym for . . . . oh never mind.
    :)

Brilliant idea, Vince! I guarantee many of us are drooling over this.

A couple of my 'case queens' are looking up at the ceiling and whistling as I eye which of them I might part with to get the money together.

Hopefully he'll still make his regular line. Although there seems to be a market for these distressed guitars, I for one will never buy one. I like them new and any wear marks should be made by me. I hope I'll still be able to get a new guitar with a clean finish.

    Hey Bob,

No worries. We're still doing everything we've always done with the Legatos and the Deuces and more. We're going to be unveiling the new Legato SoftTail in a few weeks and finally showing the Legato Customs soon, too.

I totally understand both sides of the fence on the aged guitar issue, and without getting into the debate (read "please don't let this thread get hijacked"), I respect both of them equally. In fact, you could say that our two "lines" reflect each preference. The Artifacts are being introduced in response to a lot of requests from our market that digs that vibe and knows that although we hadn't done it to this point, we'd probably do it pretty well. So, after a couple of years of exploration with the standard Legatos and the Deuces, I'm totally into it.

Bottom line is that all of us around here are really, really into building guitars and we want to expand our repertoire into some new areas. We love playing our "old songs", but we've got some new material that we think you'll really like.

Of course, there are some of us that like 'em all three ways: brand-shiny-new (virgins!), factory relic, and self relic (aka "played-in"!)

That y'all are really, really into building guitars shows. It's a good thing. Keep at it!

I wonder if it will be possible to get a "NOS" version of the "Artifact."

I'm just glad I got my Pre-Artifact Legato, built back when Vince was more focused and less distracted by other models.....these P.A. Legatos are sure to skyrocket in value.:D

I believe that the peghead is going to be the same as the one used on the Legato...

Congrats Vince, I think this is a heck of an idea. I can not afford one with my crumy retail job, even though it looks like they are starting out at a heck of a deal.

If I had the money I would JUMP on this deal in a heart beat, and already have one ordered.

    I wish you luck sir.

I do hope that we'll be able to order non-standard necks... For example, I love the look of the '63 White Blonde T-style with a rosewood fretboard, but I much prefer the big, beefy profile of a 50s-style neck...

Just curious -- anybody else feel the same...?
