    not the relic one.

I played one of these in guitar center the other day. You can get them used for around $400. Good amp for the money.

    What do you think?

    Yes, I had one
it is made in Mexico & I think only sold at Guitar Center
I don't know what is you motive to looking in to it but
I was looking for something I can use at home
but thanks to GC's return policy I returned few days after
I mean clean was not that good to boxy tone,
fat switch tone was so so
some say it is little better at higher volume
but I never cranked up & used it
& reverb was little bit short wave
but what you got to lose go down to GC try one

As my handle suggests, I'm a mostly-bedroom player. I suspect I'll be good with the BJ Tweed until I pull the trigger on an AC30CC...

fwiw, it took me all of five friendly, non-hardball minutes to get one from GC for $399 NEW. I probably wouldn't have bit otherwise, but I've been very pleasantly surprised, and haven't found myself driven to get the billm mods done in any hurry.

For those who find it too "boxy," I'm curious what you'd recommend in the neighborhood of $400. Besides the Epiphone Blues Custom 30, about which I'm very very curious, but they keep moving the release date.

Also, keep in mind that the BJ Tweed is TEH SEX. She looks so good, the sounds she makes when you turn her on are just icing on the cake.

They are great amps...I've got two.
Turned one of them into a boutique micro-plexi and left the other stock.

Apparently none who will admit it in public.

Moi, I have no shame. I'm currently counting down the days 'til the Epi Blues Custom comes out. I don't have GAS, but I am curious.

Do the mods, put in a Vintage 30 or Weber speaker. I play mine through a 2-12 cab with vintage 30's and love it. For the money, you can't hardly beat it. I bought mine for $250 from a drunk and hooked it up to a closed back cab and never looked back! Mine is not an actual relic, it is a Made in USA tweed version that has been naturally reliced.

Are Blues Jrs well made? Do the cabinets shake? I just ordered an Allen Accomplice in a Blues Jr. cab. Should come in on Tuesday.

    My brother has one.

I believe that the non-relic version is the same as the regular Blues Jr with the exception of the tweed. The regular BJ sounds good (haven't heard the mods), but the relics I played sounded positively bad. Whatever "vintage" Jensen Fender put in those was not an improvement.

If I were you I would A/B the Blues Junior against the Crate V16 Palomino that GC sells. Same size, same price, different tone. The Crate has somewhat more clean headroom, and creamier overdrive. You may like it.

The BJ is not the toughest cookie. I have had to fix the reverb tank twice and it goes through tubes very quickly. Be gentle with it and it will be all right.
