Two cool forums going on for this month only: 1.) A Jules special: January - a special make money from recording workshop. http://www.gearslutz.com/board/forumdisplay.php3?forumid=46 From Jules' sticky post: I want to try to keep this special one month forum VERY "on topic". So I have some special rules for it (NOTE - these rules dont apply to any of the other forums on this website, please look further down the main page for our regular forums) It's about making money It's not about - Musician's, engineer's or producer 'art' - Raising studio build capital / finance - Getting a record deal Just the recording work money. New threads aren't allowed in this forum, so please use the quote function freely to help make sense of it all If I have forgotten a money making category to discuss please PM me with your suggestion. VERY IMPORTANT - if you are NOT actually making money recording, keep a low profile unless you have a genuine suggestion on how to. This is to be a 'real deal' forum for hard facts not a virtual reality 'dream theater' or free for all comon sence quiz game. - If you ARE making money - PLEASE offer advice on how folks can make it too, and how to make make MORE. - If you WANT to make money, please ask clear questions that might benefit others too. - Anyone that fools around on this forum will be suspended from it. PLEASE DONT - GET FUNNY WITH THE MONEY! 2) Richard Dodd as guess mod. Dodd has producer, engineer, & mastering engineer credits for : Tom Petty, Delbert McClinton, Johnny Cash, Sheryl Crow, Clannad, Steve Earle, Electric Light Orchestra, Green Day, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, etc.: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/forumdisplay.php3?forumid=49 Good stuff, I've really enjoyed this thread: Tom Petty (Into the Great Wide Open) track notes? http://www.gearslutz.com/board/showthread.php3?threadid=25785 I hadn't been hanging there in a while, but started reading again over the holidays. Check 'em out.
Gearslutz Rules - but I haven't been over there in a while. Think I will stop in over there now though!
Whenever I go there, i get all these bogus ActiveX prompts and crap - takes forever to load and you have to refresh constantly. Lots of great info there, but it's usually not worth the hassle. MG
I read it regularly. Very similar to this forum in feel-just different content focuses. Rarely post as I am too busy taking notes when reading it. I'm not having any issues with pop-ups on it so I wonder if it is due to some addware or malware you have picked up?
