I have the Blue Mikey and I like it a lot. I have not used the Tascam.

I didn't like my Mikey. Couldn't handle band practice which is what I wanted it to do. Probably OK for solo ideas and for lectures. Also the little 3-position gain switch broke after a week.

the Mikey is discontinued at sweetwater, FWIW

New one is Mikey Digital... I'd say it's at least as good as what it does as the Tascam just based on everything else the two companies make.
