..and for interresting sake, what pickups do you use???
yep, es-135 w/ bigsby and PAF '57 humbuckers :AOK
Gibson Johnny A with the stock Classic 57's. Very fun guitar!
Dave Grohl uses a Gibson Trini Lopez as his main guitar...gibson just recently came out with his signature model which is based on that exact guitar.
It has the stock 490R and 498T.
I have one of the early (like within a couple of months) of the first ES335 "Dot" fiddles.
I use it to play hard rock
it sounds fantastic.
I have also used a Tennesean to play some pretty hard math-metal.
thin lines can totaly rock.
Agile AS 820 with custom-wound High Order P-90s...
ES 335 with 57 Classics
That guy from Queens of the Stone Age uses a Yamaha semi hollow with p90s.
ES-335 w/ Classic 57's ... it'll do hard rock, blues, classic rock, country. Great controllable feedback too.
Ric 360 with Hi-Gains.
es 135 with p-90s
I know it's a full hollow, but what the heck:
Heritage H-575 with the stock schaller buckers (actually sounds really great!)
ted nugent rocked as hard as anybody with a byrdland. wang dang your doodle.
I run a Es-339 and a American Standard Strat side by side. Its a match made in heaven.
Epiphone Jorma Kaukonen Riviera with DiMarzio Virtual Vintage (both)
Epiphone Dot, put in a pair of Duncan '59's, some heavy strings tuned (low to high) CGCGCC and did an entire metal recording with it. Sounded fantastic.
The Gibson ES-339 with 57's is a rock machine.
