I'm thinking about putting a RF and a Wizard in a 2x12 open back Avatar cab. Would this combo do well with sounds ranging from sparkly cleans to hard rock? Also, could it handle a very loud 50 watt tube amp?

Please tell me of your experiences combining the RF with another speaker.

I use a red fang with a 1230/55hz Weber, in an open back cab. I use this cab with both my JTM 45 and Maz 38. Clean it is great and with mild break up, but heavy distortion it seems to blur. It does represent the Maz jangle very well. I will be closing it up and using an open back with 2x12 gold whenever they become available. I hope closing the cab will tighten up the bottom a bunch. It has adequate bass but just does not push as efficiently as a closed cab. Oh then I will probably have to build in beam blockers.

I have a RF with a Celestion 12H30 (a Hellatone actually) which I think is the Celestion that most resembles a Wizard in my Ceriatone 18 watt Marshall Clone combo. Sounds great to me. I use tones ranging from chime to grind and I think it performs very well.

    Best,

I use a RF and a Scumbag M75 in a 2x12 open back Bluesbreaker style cab with a JTM45 head.

Martin, not to hi-jack the thread, but which Ceriatone do you have? Are you using a closed or open cab?

I also have and love a Fang and I have a couple well aged V30's that I plan to mix with the Fang when my Ceriatone ef86 tmb arrives in a couple very long weeks.

    Thanks
    Eric

I use a Red Fang and a C-Rex together. Wonderful and no need to change. It handles any type of music well.

My favorite combo is the RF and a greenback. I use it in a closed back cab with a Rockytop jtm45 and a Hayseed 30. I feel that the RF sounds a whole lot better in a closed back cab!!!! Plenty of chime and thump!!!:RoCkIn

Sounds like it might work then- I'll give it a go. If this doesn't fly I'll probably go with a V30 and the Wizard or G12H30. Thanks for the replys fellas.

I use to have an Avatar 2x12 Cab with a Wiz and a Red Fang in. I used it with a Hayseed 30. Loud as balls. Nice speaker combo.

I also have used the Cannabis Rex and Governor together in a combo. Great pair as well. I prefer this pair over the RF & Wiz.
