......a major slow down in action?

I have been trying to sell a couple things that under the old rules when have gone very quickly. I have hardly a nibble in over a week.

I like the new rules a lot. I just wish that non-supporting members could still search the emporium.

Guess I will have to go back to using e(vil)Bay.

I thought new members COULD search just the same as supporting members.

maybe they're all just offended that TGP asked them to donate some cash? i've had friends stop talking to me when i suggested they pay their GF's for gas once in a while.... people are weird when money gets involved.

I thought they couldn't use the advanced search, only the google powered search. I am off base on this?

I think anybody can view the emporium, you don't have to be a supporting member to buy.
Only to post a thread in it (ie to be a seller..) do you have to be a member.
    This is my understanding...

The ability to "advanced search" was given back to the peasantry.

I think the slowdown occured well before the new rules came into effect. Something I heard on the radio about an economic downturn possibly?

BTW you should be able to search anywere on the forum w/ the regular vbulletin search engine.

Ok. Just late to the party......
I remember reading that advanced searches really taxed the servers, which was the reason that only supporting members would be allowed to do it. I am glad they made that change.

Whatever the reason, things have really slowed down. For me at least. Of course, I ain't buying any thing either.....

I've noticed the slowdown a good few weeks before the new rules came in. It is indeed true that people are more careful with their money now. So things aren't moving as fast for the sellers. However if someone is willing to ship overseas, that should open up the sales pretty quickly.

At least now when you do post something for sale, it stays on the first page for more than 20 minutes.

People are just buying less. It was like that before the new rules--at least a month or two.

I noticed that a month or so ago, if you bump your ad once a day it was about on page 8. Now it's more like 5 or 6.

+1! Before this past week, I had never shipped a pedal overseas (not because I wasn't willing to, but because I never had any interest from overseas buyers). Now I find myself shipping a Roadhouse E to Greece and an Atomic Echo Clone to Britain. It's a small world these days... :BEER
