I spun this album a ton back in the late 70's as a kid. I still crank up Never Been Any Reason fairly often. :dude

I lived in Houston during the early 80's, so I'm quite familiar with "Never Been Any Reason", but I was unaware Head East had so many albums.

My band did a demo of that a few years ago.

(Use the gear looking thing to choose 720P or higher for better sound)

One of my best friends played guitar with them, a little bit later. They were very big in the Midwest - played big arenas, etc.

"Never Been Any Reason" was one of the songs that, IMHO, set the stage for all of the following tidal wave of bands like Journey, Foreigner, Styx, etc. with the high tenor singers, 3-part harmonies and really catchy, pop-influenced tunes.

It was one of the first of the genre, and almost every cover band played it back then.

I saw them open for J Geils Band in 1978 or 1979. I was definitely familiar was Never Been Any Reason way before seeing them live.

And glad to see loudboy connect them to the Styx thing. I always thought that one tune helped bands like Styx and Boston become what they did, and then Foreigner and Journey followed.

Yeah, they played the tune a lot on the rock stations.

And that sounds like a great show. I saw the JGB three or four times, they were always great. I can't remember the opening acts, though, except for Edgar Winter.

One of my current bands is doing "Never Been Any Reason".

I had forgotten about the song until the keyboard player suggested it.
As soon as I heard it, it was "Yeah, I remember this!"

I have a few of their albums, but can't remember the last time I listened to one.

Is this the band that John Schlitt from Petra started in back in the day?
