Anyone else think the Deep Blue Delay is too noisy?

I just traded some stuff to a friend for it, plugged it in, and was like, "whats all the hissing from?" Of course I do have a bright setup, and it was more noticeable in my AC30 than my Fender Deville.

I also read that there are no noise reduction circuits in it whatsoever because Bjorn wanted the decays to sound as natural as possible. And the decays really do sound amazing, but I for one could do without the noise!

    Any thoughts?

Well mine doesn't hiss when I'm not playing, its part of the repeats.

there's been a few threads about this. I sold mine because of all the noise that followed the decays on longer settings. I didn't find it to be an issue at all on slapback type settings. It's too bad, because it is one of the best delays I have used in a long time.

I was told that they are working on trying to fix this.

I hope they will offer a mod to fix this. The repeats are the best I have ever heard, but I can't deal with the noise on the longer stuff.

That seems to be the general concensus. From what I've seen on TGP most folks trying to use it for longer settings reluctantly end up selling it.

I returned mine because the hiss in the repeats was as loud as the music, but ONLY IF the knobs were turned past 11:00. But man what a sound before that! I sorta miss it.

I keep the volume around 10 o'clock or less with no problems at all. I really like the way it sounds.

No issues with mine. Then again I run it in front of my amp at a 9 o clock level.

I don't get any pronounced 'hiss' at longer delay settings. Analog character perhaps, but nothing that detracts from the tone.

No hiss here either. It's the only delay to stay on my board.

The last post in this thread is from 2008. I just checked out a DBD and love it, but did notice that there was a slight hiss when it's on. I was playing at a very low volume too. It's a brand new pedal (a PCB version or whatever). I really like this pedal but was curious about the noise.

Correction: I bought it, took it home, and it's quiet! Greaat pedal. Must have been the wall wart power supply they had or something in the wiring at the store.
