    Likely not a 2016.

I believe the serial number makes it a 2018, other than that I'm having a hard time finding any differences.

    I think we're all pretty happy :)

The 2016s were really great too! I have yet to have seen anything in 2017-18 that I am excited about (referring to Memphis offerings). My 58 and 59 RI's are killer.

It really was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I have a few really nice guitars, but when a non player sees my 335, they really get wowed.

The limited edition is made with hot hide glue. The 2016's used room-temperature hide glue. :rotflmao

I got a 2015 63 es 335 tdc vos limited and it was the top and back flame/figure which was the hugh difference compared to the lower end models. However I do not see that with this es limited example in the older post.
Mine too has the MHS BUCKERS too and rosewood fret board, hide glue ect... As far as I can see since 2014 the Memphis plant has upped there game on the es bodies. The price payed for CME es guitars was a outstanding deal as Gibson prices continue to creep upwards .

I know the major differences between the '16 ES-355 I got and the '18 is real rosewood fingerboard and the finish is nitro I believe. That being said, I still find myself lucky to have gotten my guitar when I did for the price I got it for.

What '16 and what '18 are you comparing? Let's start by eliminating the nitro as any difference, as they are all nitro, even the Studio.

The point that the OP is making is well taken. Even with the best apples to apples comparison, the prices for the 2018 Memphis models has gone up considerably. And that makes the CME deals even sweeter.

My ‘16 ‘63 ES-335 has a rosewood board. Looks like the only difference is Burstbucker 1/2 vs MHS on the ‘16s.
And they’re advertising tolerances on the neck angle.

The CME deal on ESs was a deal of a lifetime plain and simple. I remember when I bought my 2012 335 figured Dot for 1900 . I thought they were gonna arrest me . That was a stupid deal at the time, but 1700 for a blonde figured 335 is just nuts. Glad I got in on it. Great guitar btw.

Does CME set up their guitars when purchased online?
