OLD THREAD BUMP!I just got an old set for my strat.[3XS neck/Bridge, 3XN middle] They should be great sounding clean pickups as they are all under 6k. I'll wire em' up next week and report back!

It was back in the early 90s so I don't remember the set, but I had some. They had a preamp and needed a battery.
    do these need the preamp?

Well, finally got these installed and they are great pickups. Kinda remind me of a cross between Lace sensor gold's and active EMG single coils, but they aren't compressed at all and have an even, non scooped midrange. The high end reminds me of my EMG S pickups. They also cluck like mad in positions 2/4 unlike the aforementioned pickups. Just really articulate,piano-like and low noise. I'll be keeping this set!
