Anyone experienced this? <Pickup installing problem>

    I tried installing a '57 Classic PUP in my LP. There wasn't exactly enough wire and I had to pull on it some to make the connection to the pots. The PUP didnt work so I took it to a luthier and he told me it looks like I pulled the wire out from inside the PUP. He says the PUP is now useless and I should just toss it.
    Anyone ever dealt with this before? Any info or experiences would be appreciated as I would hate to just throw this thing in the garbage.

    I've never ran into that myself, but I would think a skilled pickup winder/builder could repair it for you.

    It's probably fixable. As long as the 2 leads of the pickup coil are still attached to the bobbin.
