Anyone got a chord chart for Tempted by Squeeze

squeally dan

I love this song and I'm having some trouble picking out some chords. In the past, it seems someone always has some tips regarding these kind of things and some of the stuff on the internet looks flat wrong to me. Anyone play this one? We may add it to our acoustic setlist.

Love this song. The key to this one is to listen to the bass line.

That said here are the basic keyboard chords. However, to get the song right on solo guitar you need to play the bass line along with these chords. That means you'll have to play inversions and slash chords. I have that version as well which I will post later because I don't have it on my work PC.

[EDIT] The formatting is all wrong so I sent you and email with a word doc. Enjoy [EDIT]

Tempted (Difford/Tilbrook)

Passed the church and the steeple, the laundry on the hill
Billboards and the buildings

Memories of it still keep calling... and Calling

But forget it all I know I will

Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
C# F#
What's been going on Now that you have gone
There's no other... Tempted by the fruit of another
E C#m Em
Tempted but the truth is discovered

verse 2:

I'm at the carpark, the airport, the baggage carousel
The people keep on grabbing, ain't wishing I was well
I said, "It's no occasion, it's no story I can tell"
At my bedside, empty pocket, a foot without a sock
Your body gets much closer I fumble for the clock
Alarmed by... the seduction
I wish... that it would stop

[repeat chorus]

verse 3 [half-length]

I bought a novel, some perfume, a fortune over you
But it's not my conscience that hates to be untrue
Bm7 F#m7 G A D
I asked of my reflection, tell me what is there to do-oo-oo-oo

[repeat chorus to fade]
