My lady friend got a new Taylor 3 years ago, I looked it over and it seemed fine.
3 years later she hadn't really used it at all.
I looked it over to see if there was a problem that led to the non use.
The neck was very bent and the truss rod turned like it had never been tightened.
Long story short; The brass nut seemed fine but the threads on the steel rod are totally shot.
If you try to tighten it it'll go some ways and then bang! the nut gets stripped because it's holding on by the very tip of the threads.
How the hell does this happen?
This is a guitar sold as new by a big retailer.
