Anyone Into "Primative Sound"?

Just curious if there is anyone out there performing live that plugs a high z vocal mic into an amp like a tweed Deluxe or tweed Bassman while playing guitar through the same amp. It would seem so liberating to do this in a small venue if playing rockabilly or early country.

The closest I've seen successfully done on stage is harmonica players who occasionally sing through the harp mic., vs. the house vocal mic. Sometimes both at the same time.

it would sound terrible, so you'd need some kind of gimmick to make up for it:

I've heard some sound guys take $100k worth of equipment and make it sound that bad. This dude definitely has a gimmick. I wonder how much of a repertoire he's got?

Its great if you like feedback! Take a midrangy mic and put it in a midrangy amp, and thats what you will get.
