We lost our schipp on Nov 15 and our hearts still ache.

Anyone know of a well behaved schipperke in the NE Ohio area?

That's a beautiful tribute. I'd be missing that cute little character too. Hope you find another doggy pal soon.

Thanks. Harder to justify for us now because we both work outside the home so it's a tough decision to get another one and leave her alone all day while we're at work.

(this must be "my sister has a" day...)

My older sister runs a schipperke rescue out of her home, about 30 miles from me.
She has, last I counted, about 15.
Of those, about 4 might be adoption-worthy, iirc. The rest are elderly of medically compromised.

I'm not sure if the organization she's connected to does any out of state placement, tho I know she's gone to WA, CA and NV to pick up 'new' dogs.

Sorry you lost your pal. I love all dogs and though schipperkes aren't among my favorites neither were pit bulls, until my son brought one home six years ago. Now I dread the day he is gone.

My Schipperke "Taz" died last year at age 16 (Taz the Spaz). Great little doggie if a bit crazy for the first 5 years. Lots of sillyness and playfulness in this breed. My condolences on your loss.

Thanks. Schipperkes are certainly odd, funny and neurotic personalities. I still miss her every day. We had 18" of snow the last couple days. It was sad going out and shoveling and not cutting a path for her to be able to go out and do her business..

I guess for the first year I will be looking at everything and thinking how different it feels without her.

    That was a great tribute.
It looks like you guys had a good long run together, 15 years!

A lot of life happens in 15 years.

And it's always a profound moment when you realize they were with you every step of the way.

    Sorry for your loss,
    Been there many times,
    It gets better..

    One of my favorite breeds.
    The little skipper.

I'm convinced my dog is part Schipperke but I might be wrong. I just watched the video with my girlfriend. I'm throughly convinced he is a Schipperke mix. Your dog looks so much like mine. My girlfriend cried a little. Nice video.

    Sorry for your loss

Here was my little pal Taz, about age 12 with cataracts showing in the flash.

aww, my schipp's eyes looked alot like that. The vet seemed to think she was older than 8. We got her from a rescue and they told us she was 2 and she did look very puppyish but she was pretty grey in the face when she passed away so maybe she was 5 or 6 when we got her? I kind of hope that she lived a longer life than 8 years. Some schipps live to be into their 20s.

as you can see from our schipp's pix. She had way more grey than yours so maybe she really was a lot older?

Taz got very grey in the face towards the end, I was guessing your Roxi was around 14.

Thanks. My wife insists on believing the rescue but I think she was older. I'd feel a lot better knowing she had a longer life.
