Gibson recently raised prices across the board.

That's just putting them farther off my radar. I started seriously thinking of getting one last year and, if I remember correctly, they were only $1,199.00 then. I'll have to check what the LP VM are going for now.

The Standards and Historics that I've been scoping at Wildwood seem to have all jumped up a few hundred bucks.

Good thing I don't have near enough cash to be able to afford a Gibbo in the first place. :AOK

I hear ya, looks like MIJ for me. The more I hear about quality control going downhill on something that should be (in my opinion) immaculate for $1000+. Just one more reason to realize that there are more than Fender and Gibson in the world...

I was very interested in the new LP Standards but the prices are insane. After going to a shop and checking some out, I walked out with a Hamer. The LPs were nice, but not for that price. And for the bragging they did about being Pleked, the nut wasn't cut right on one of them.... looked like they filed a little groove in there with a nail file or something. The strings would barely sit there (and on one of the $3000 customs the G string wouldn't even stay in the slot it was so shallow!) Glad I bought my Studio when the prices were at least acceptable.

I'm just now starting to Like some Gibby guitars (grew up Fender) so these new prices are just getting to be too much. They were ALWAYS too much for a poor bastard like me, but it is getting even worse... Thank goodness for some good, although rare, used Gibby deals.
