Anyone own something from the new PureSalem line yet?

Just curious. They went for higher-end look with the Fano-esque headstocks and new designs, and the price point went up a couple hundred dollars. They have a cool vibe, and I'm a sucker for the retro-styled guitars.

I'm not feeling the new designs and headstocks.

I used to have a strong desire for a Classic Creep when they had it in this color:

I'd buy an Eastwood, Axl or DiPinto before a PureSalem.

    Kinda pricey they seem.

They look like something Herman Munster played when he sung "Knee Bone Connected
    To The Thigh Bone".

Im not thrilled that the prices went up either, but a new Eastwood can break the 1k mark as well. Eastwood, though, has allot of dealers and it's possible to actually sit down and try one out. It's also been around quite a few years longer, and their prices were quite low at first too.

Anyway, i really like the Tom Cat model. But for 1045.00 I'd have to utterly love it and be willing to overlook where it's made and that resale might bring in half what I paid.

Care to elaborate on any of the brands and why they're better then the Pure Salem. I'm possibly interested in a funky offset, so this is relevant to my interests. I've heard Eastwood's are just ok. I played a Di Pinto years ago and it was just ok as well, but that was a long long time ago. Didn't know of Axl and Pure Salem until now.

That is a pretty brutal assessment without much qualification. I too am interested in why you say this.

I saw on their Instagram page that Gibson is threatening legal action over their body shapes.

    @hittodeath

Based on your content, I can only conclude that you joined TGP simply to trash on PureSalem. Maybe it's deserved, but we have no way of knowing unless you give us some back story.

I'd wondered why Pure Salem posts were getting bumped frequently today. Yeah, three posts on a new account from today. All of which are about how they hate this company and their guitars. Very suspicious... Not to say anything about the company one way or another, but, was this maybe the point of that account's creation? If so, that seems a bit drastic, especially since there's no explanation, don't you think? Perhaps you owe it to the rest of us to explain your stance.

Not interested in owning one but appreciate that they are trying to do something a little different.

Also, yeah, you can't come into a thread and say they suck don't buy one and leave. You have to explain why.

Are they doing something different? Seems their models are Fender, Gibson, and Gretsch body shapes with BiLT, Fano, and Fender headstocks.

They are made in the Mirr factory in Korea, same place Reverend makes their guitars

Nothing wrong with that. The Mirr factory builds some great guitars:)

    Indeed they do.

Nothing wrong with the guitars being built there or nothing wrong with the company taking the designs of these other companies, outsourcing them, and then complaining when they are threatened with legal action?
