    Hey,

My absolute favorite amp in the world is my SF Deluxe Reverb w/ a Celestion G12H-80. If I could use it everywhere, even large loud gigs, I'd be thrilled. It's pretty punchy, but sometimes gets a little drowned out on the outdoor type stuff.

So, I was thinking of getting an extension cab to run on those larger shows. Maybe a closed 2x12 or ???

Any thoughts or advice? Anyone doing this?

    Thanks,

    - Jim

    Jimmy,

Drop the the SF Deluxe reverb and get a real amp... how about a 100watt Marshall Plexi and 4X12 w/ greenbacks....

    That should fit any venue![IMG]

    Great to be back.[IMG]

Anyway.....been there, done that with the big amps..........don't need to COMPENSATE anymore............comfortable with being Irish!

Thanks......that's one of my fave sessions. Great song by Jack McTamney.....his whole CD is killer, despite the wanker spewing guitar all over it!

Little DR sounds killer! Is it stock besides the 25k pot? I'm about to have mine recapped and tuned. That's a damn good benchmark tone. It sounds like the notes are clear on yours, low and high volume.

    Thanks......

Yeah, pretty much stock. The Celestion makes a big difference, I believe.

Anyone else using an extension cab to get "more" out of their DR's?

    cheers!

I had a DRRI that I used a Mojo 1x12 ext. cab with. Much bigger sound. I loved it. I think the ext. had a Celestion 80 in it. Fun.

    Go buy one, be happy.

I use a Celestion Alnico Blue in a 1x12 extension cab to supplement the Reverend Alltone 1250 speaker in the amp. You can hear how the Deluxe Reverb sounds through the Blue here:
