I have a local guy offering me an Ibanez JS1200 for trade, which value-wise works out pretty well. Does anyone here use one for blues/ classic rock? It seems to have some nice specs that could translate into non-shredder territory. Interested in your opinions..

I use a Jackson SL2H for damn near everything from Blues to Jazz to Metal.

Doesn't mean I'm any good at it, but I do. :)

It might not be ideal, but sure... it's capable of relaying the blues that is in your heart and fingers.

Ibanez JS are great guitars. Well built, great playing, great sounding. What's not to like? The only thing is if it feels good to you.

I used a JS-6 which is the fixed bridge natural mahogany one for years as a blues guitar, sort of an SG meets Tele sound.

The JS1200 would be a great guitar for the blues, (despite being bright red) but like the rest of the JS series (apart from the introductory level guitars) has very modern sounding pickups. If you want a more "authentic" blues sound, a pickup swap might help tame things a bit.
