In the Boss ads they say that this tuner has a brightness mode that "cuts through the brightest outdoor glare".
Anyone find this to be true?
I've been searching for a tuner that would do this for some time now. Spring and Summer we do a lot of outdoor gigs.

Not true. I have a TC electronics Polytune that you can see it in direct sunlight, it even brightens itself in the direct sunlight. Boss and korg both wash out in the direct sunlight. I've had them all.

Crap, I was afraid you'd say that.

In the last few years I've tried the Planet Waves, TU2, Hardwire and the Polytune. So far the blue light on the Hardwire has worked best. I'm using that on my acoustic setup, and the Polytune on electric.

yep. TU-3 is as bright as any, but not brighter than the big LED in the sky.
