Double bass pedal with your slave pedal next to/ against to the hi hat pedal. Foot in the middle plays both simultaneous.

What do you mean by 'play' the hi-hat?

The hi-hat foot control simply opens the hi-hats.
You could put a trigger on the bass drum and have it trigger a hihat sample.
If you want to open the hi-hat every time you hit the bass drum then I have no real idea, other than using a remote hat control and positioning it next to the bass drum.
Would still be a cludge.

I'm struggling to think of a situation where this would be musically useful.
Would you mind explaining the wider purpose of the question?
I might be able to think of a solution for you.

I thought it would be sort of self explanatory what I meant. I'm obviously not looking for a pedal that will hit the hi hat with a stick. I want to hit the bassdrum and have the same foot movement close the hi hat at the same time. I'm a one man band and I prefer playing standing.

Ok, well, I read 'play the hihat' to mean to play the note, rather than open the hats.

In that case a remote hi-hat controller positioned next to the bass drum is about as elegant as I can imagine.

or there's this:

seriously, the above mentioned devices might be about all you can do to get a simultaneous foot-chik and bass drum. try over at drumchat.com or drummerworld.com forums for people who might have more answers.
good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I can see why this probably doesn't exist, since it isn't very practical for anything if you're an actual drummer.

About the easiest, with release clutch on the hi-hat, or not. Plus is, you get the double kick pedal action if needed. Unless your other foot is playing bass pedals or something!

I don't think you will be able to line up the remote hi-hat pedal next to the single kick pedal if you're running single kick. Could be weird, but I haven't done this.

One man band is the mother of invention! I will be curious to hear what you come up with.

I'm just looking for the easiest thing to step on with one foot. I think I mentioned it before, but I'm doing a "one man band" thing. I can sit down and play both with both feet, but it gets awkward. standing and stompin' with one foot is easier. Any other one man band percussion ideas? I can post a link to what I'm playing if you want.

Cool.. thanks for the tune!

Just thinking here.. I would do the remote hi-hat- ditch the remote Hi-hat pedal, take the kick pedal and high hat assembly to a machine shop and have them extend the shaft of the kick pedal pivot and then put some form of the cables housing in a side saddle mount off the kick pedal frame to hold the housing on the frame of the kick pedal, and have the pivot shaft of the kick pedal move the cable. If that makes sense. You definitely would have to have a cable adjuster involved to be able to match up with Hi-hat timing to kick so it wont flam on ya. just something I think I would do if I was in your shoes.

I may just resort to the sitting position and add some more stuff to my set up. I had the idea to mount a pocket piano on my bassdrum and run it through a PA.
