John Suhr will have some killer stuff at the show, a setneck Modern as well as the production hedgehog and hopefully the prototype for the Suhr branded PT100/50. Fortin should have the Proto for their new 2ch Metal amp that should be top of the list for metal players. I hear Louis Electric will have a limited edition run of some sort andd the prolific and amazingly talented Steve Stevens will be playing with an all star line up at the Tone Merchants in orange county that week. man I hate being in the Midwest! - Sir Douglas T

I heard about a 7-string. Anyone know if it'll be a Modern or a Standard? (I hope it's a Standard, I'm not a fan of 24-fret guitars.)

Too bad, it is a 24 fret 25.5" based off the Modern and first articles to have EMGs Phase II with OFR and Smokin! What is the problem with 24fret though?
if you want a 22 fret, Anderson has re-released his.
PT100 Suhr we are still working on but we will also have a Set neck modern and if all the stars align our programmable tri chorus/ trem, Compressor and buffer

I'm a huge fan of pretty much anything that has 24 frets, OFR, a neck that plays itself and has 4 letters on the headstock that starts with s.

NFW! I thought he'd never do those again. Thanks for the info.

Your Moderns look amazing and I'd love to check one out (being the big fan of your Standards that I am). But every 24 fret super strat I've played seems to really sacrifice that killer, sweet, strat neck pickup tone that I love so much (for clean and for lead). I'm sure yours are as good as 24-fretters get, but I'm honestly skeptical about 24-fretters in general (and for what, an extra D# and E? :D). Still would love to check a Modern out at some point.

Dave

P.S. OFR?

P.P.S. O yeah, and PM sent about something really stupid that I'm sure you'll love, not. ;)

I dont know about the copyright there but I'll look at it after NAMM

Anyway the 24 fret you should try, I never wanted to do it either for fear of the neck pickup sacrifice but it really didnt turn out that way at all, no sacrifice and the Modern is a thicker body and sounds that way !:D

Cool, got your PM, thanks!

I'll definitely check one of the moderns out. They've all looked amazing. I get the feeling if there's a 24-fretter I'd like, it'd be that one. And I can't wait to see what your 7s look like, regardless of how many frets they have.

After reading this I checked the tonemerchants site for info. Steve Stevens and TGP's own Pete Thorn! I may have to try to get tix if I can.

Steve is one of my all time favorite guitarists and if I could have found a way to take off work I would have loved to fly out to see that show and to see Andy Wood/Pete and the great folks @ Suhr guitars. - Sir Douglas T

You bet. I really tuned into Steve Stevens after buying the Billy Idol Storytellers DVD a few years ago.
