I really screwed the pooch passing up getting one when Brian was still building them. What out there right now is relatively close, plan on using last in my chain for buffer and a little tonal shaping.

This seems close although I've never had anyone confirm that (and my e-mail to the company was never answered): http://www.drscientist.ca/pedaldetail.php?pedal_code=clean. It has a volume control and the new ones seem to have a loudness control, otherwise seems pretty similar.

Never tried the MDEQ (one day :) ), but the BJFE Sea Blue EQ has always been my go-to equalizer/buffer.

I've been looking for the last couple of months also and the closest I've found to the MDEQ is Dr. Scientist,The Cleanness.
