Just sold an amp on ebay. Had to relist it once and include free shipping, but it did sell at a higher price than some offers I'd had here.

I had a heck of a time finding a used Marshall DSL100 and two cabinets. Assoon as I'd find something, it'd be gone!

I had to order the last piece from guitar center, who had to get one from an Ohio store.

Conversely, Dallas, had more selection on craig's list.

Not many people have much extra cash these days.

I listed two Xotic pedals here for $110 all day, nothing. Put them on eBay that night, sold by the next morning. I got $127 for one and $140 for the other. I normally give this place a week, but lately I've pulling it early.

More of a flavor of the month type crowd here.

If nothing is selling, then prices are too high. Like the housing market... hopefully this is the guitar bubble beginning to burst.

Economy is cresting the biggest rollercoaster in history.

In Canada at least, there are huge storage lots full of new cars sitting there because dealers do not have room as they aren't selling the cars they have! If it wasn't for 0% for 84months.....car sales would be close to zero.

I've been doing my part buying over the last year: one classical guitar from a dealer, four Gibson guitars from ebay, one amp from ebay, one amp from TGP, one amp and 2x12 cab from a builder, a pair of powered PA speakers form a dealer, a few pedals and rack mount F/X from dealers, and a few speakers from TGP.

Economy + people trying to resell their gear for too much. It's not worth what you paid - 5-10% just because it was in your smoke free house. It's used gear, even if it's a Two Rock.

I did 4 listings on Ebay and got nothing. Relisted and nothing again. My prices were fairly cheap and not junk stuff. Fender Rhodes amp and other stuff.

price your stuff at 35%- 40% off street not list and it will sell. It's always been this way. If you ask stupid prices, no sale. Buy used and take less hit. Buy new and be prepared. If its some unavailable item that has sold out and is in super high demand that changes things but for the most part things sell at 35%-40% off street same as it's been for as long as I have been doing this which is a long time.

There is a 2003 verified Brazilian gibson les paul for sale and no takers on ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-Gibson...W-/261099264373?pt=Guitar&hash=item3ccaba9975

but there is a burnt slab board strat with a badly cracked neck that is practically useless and its at $5600 right now don't ask me why. It appears buying is erratic and is centered on minty vintage equipment and "rock star" tribute instruments
( aka like the 'Jimmy Page' model for example )

Sept - Oct is usually a hiring period and the job market is relatively quiet, also it appears not much is selling on ebay. A friend says that you can't give away vintage cars like vettes and GTOs too

Oh I forgot to mention I think it might have to do with the dreaded fiscal cliff, not that I think it will effect the economy as much as it will outrage the rich that they might have to actually pay some taxes for a change.

I just bought a Tungsten Crema Wheat and a Gibson ES-335. I also just sold a Bogner Shiva half stack. So yes, stuff is selling, but it has to be priced aggressively. I lost more money than I want to think about with the Bogner, but if I didn't want a change, I wouldn't have gone for it in the first place.
