can handle more power? Like 50 watts? I know the Heritage G12-65 is supposed to be similar but has a much smoother top end, I really like the tone of the regular Greenback but am afraid I'll blow it in my combo. Any suggestions? Thanks

Scumback I believe do a G12M in a 65 watt HP version. Probably the closest you will get.

To add to the scumback and weber, there's also the Eminence Private Jack rated at 50W.
Isn't the GB12 supposed to be a 50-watt greenback clone too?

Yes. This is from the FAQ's on the Eminence site

"What are the differences in tonality between the Legend GB12 and Private Jack?"

"The Legend GB12 is a speaker with distinctive British tonal characteristics that are often associated with Vox or Marshall products. It has many of the qualities of the Private Jack, but is much warmer and smoother, lending a little more bottom end. Private Jack has all of the same great qualities of other well-known vintage British speakers including thick mids, an extended top end, and the controlled break-up you would expect from a classic British speaker."

Thanks for the replies. I'll check out the eminence stuff...I've steered clear so far cuz the many options were a bit overwhelming.

I guess all of these Greenback style speakers lose a little top end as the power is beefed up....just the nature of handling more power perhaps.

Don't mess around. Just get the best - Scumback M75. You'll probably end up with them anyway - may as well get them first time !

G12H-65 is kind of like a high powered greenback but with a large dustcover.
