I tried the acoustic one on my acoustic. Added some punch and sizzle, pretty similar to the BBE from what I could tell, only you can tweak the parameters a bit more. Some guys probably swear by them. I traded mine.
I'd be interested to hear peoples experience with the one for electric though.

Did you find something better?

I really like mine. It gives you some really shiny sounds. I don't know how else to describe it, but it's pretty musically useful.

You should try one.

It definitely adds a new dimension to clean sounds, I would describe it as more "shiny" or 3D.
It did not make enough of a discernible difference on overdrive/distortion. I found out over time that I was using some level of overdrive 90% of the time, so I ended up taking it off the board.
If I was in your shoes, I would do an honest assessment of what kind of sounds you use and then decide how much you'd get out of it based on that.

Well, I started using a SWR Strawberry Blonde with a built in Aural Enhancer, which essentially accomplished the same thing. So I didn't need it.

You may be able to find one for a decent price used, or if a local store with a good 30 day return policy or something carries one, you can always buy it and try it out. Return it if you don't dig it.

I have the acoustic xciter that I use for any UST acoustics and it really cleans up the sound nicely... very very similar to the sonic stomp... takes the "blanket" off the speaker. I assume the electric would do the same. I only got it cuz it has an XLR balanced out so I could use it straight into the sound board... the electric has the XLR as well, but I don't know how useful it is... have you tried the sonic stomp?
