I picked up a new Rat2 recently with the intention of replacing the IC with an LM308 (something I've done a few times in the past on older Rat2's). I was surprised to find out that you can't remove the knobs without pulling out the pot shafts. Crazy!

I did some Googling and it seems like a pretty common problem on the later models. I picked up some replacement pots from Small Bear, so it's not that big of a deal.

I ran into the same thing with one that I gutted and replaced all the parts. ProCo actually sent me a free set of replacement pots after I posted about it here on TGP. Nice guys over there!
