Even my mechanical watches have a power reserve of 40 hours. This watch won't even last a full day!

I ordered the least expensive Sport watch, should be fun to play around with. It gave me a June delivery date.

That coupled with "sheeple" comment is exactly why I have a Citizen Eco Drive watch and a bunch of Apple stock :roll

There's a perfectly obvious reason for that.

No kidding. My parents' rotary phone never needs charging, but I have to charge my iPhone every three days.

TGP was equally close minded when the iPad was announced. Even the word sheeple was liberally used to describe those early adopters.

It was more aimed at the morons who sat in lines for days to get the product. The Ipad has always been popular on TGP. Lots of Apple users here, most of them defensive apparently.

I don't think anyone here is being defensive. Since you have a problem with Apple users, I suppose you needed to go there. Go back & read some of the original threads. There was a huge backlash for the "need" to have an ipad.

You should probably talk to all the Rolex, Omega, Brietling, and Patek owners out there if you think that mechanical watches are outdated technology.

I own an Ipad, a MAC and an Iphone I just feel no need at all to defend Apple and I certainly wouldnt wait in line for any of their products nor am I interested in being one of their millions of defense attorneys who attack anyone who says anything about their products.

I don't see it. Though I'll admit I've never been a big watch wearer in the first place and once we got cell phones with the clock right on, I had both.

Plus they get sweaty and all that.

I can actually see why people would buy an iPhone - or any cell phone for that matter. My old man kept saying had had no need for no damn smartphone but the last time he went, that's pretty much all there was so he got one - and now he's figured out he can text pictures of the pieces of equipment from his work to contractors and vendors and he sees its worth.

iPad - well, I suppose you could use it for lots of things but glorified e-reader to many, over-priced substitute miniature TV for others, and over-sized phone and camera to a few!

But still, I think, even as just a day planner, an iPad would be of far more use than a watch.

I figured the Apple corps would come out in droves to buy it when released - that's what apple's good at doing - marketing to their built in fan base. But I can't see it being the "next big thing" in the way phones and tablets have been - especially since they've already sort of replaced what watches did anyway.

Probably a good hipster conversation starter though...
