I'm just curious. This isn't meant to start a modeling/traditional amp debate. I'm curious to know if there are any well known guitarists who use any type of amp modeling live?

Lincoln Brewster would be one. He's using an HD500 direct to PA for most (if not all) of his live work these days.

Sent from my iPad using Forum Runner

Rocky George (Suicidal Tendencies, Fishbone) plays through a Boss GT-10 live sometimes. Direct to PA.
He talks about it in a youtube video from last year I think.

Then switched back to the POD HD500 live becuase it's easier to replace in the event that something happens to it than the Axe.

*Attn:Just in case anyone breezed through my post and got Axe-envy; I did not say he switched because he or anyone else thought it was better OR more durable than the Axe*

Some very well known ones who can't be listed on the Fractal page because of other endorsements. :-/

Robert Randolph uses his 11R with his pedal steel.

I see lots of videos of Jonny Hiland all ecstatic about his 11R, but i'm not sure if he's using it live.

Trivium, Meshuggah, and Periphery uses Axe Fx's.

Alex Lifeson has an Axe-FX backing up his entire rack on the last tour. Scott Appleton (his tech) talked to me at this show briefly and then we exchanged some emails talking about it. This is from the Detroit show.

Bad photos (I know) but it's the bigger green screen on the bottom.

Glenn Tipton (Judas Priest) used a GSP1101 on the Nostradamus cd, and also has one in his live rig.

At a prs event about 3 years ago I witnessed Paul Jackson Jr pull a red kidney bean shaped POD out of his bag and proceed to plug his prs into it. I assumed he was going straight into the PA. He of course sounded great, but I continue to dislike mine!
